You can change the wording of every email your guests get from LumiWed, in each of your wedding's languages. Every email starts out with our text already written in all your active languages, so you only change the lines you want. Editing your emails is part of Premium. On the Free plan you can open every email and preview it, and your guests get our text.
Open an email
-
In your dashboard menu, open Emails, under Manage, below Guests.
-
Pick the email you want to change:
- Invitation, sent when you send invites from Guests.
- RSVP reminders, sent automatically to guests who haven't replied. There are three: 1 · Gentle nudge, 2 · Still waiting and 3 · Last call.
- RSVP confirmation, sent right after a guest says they're coming, and RSVP: can't come, sent right after a guest says they can't come.
- New moment, Schedule change and Moment reminder, the emails you send from Content → Schedule.
-
At the top, choose the Language you want to edit. Each language shows whether it is still the default, edited by you, or translated from another language.
-
Under Writing for, choose One guest or Couple or family. Many languages word an email differently when it goes to several people, so each version can be changed separately.
Change the wording
- On your phone: tap any line in the email to change it. Choose Done when you're finished.
- On a computer: change the fields on the left and watch the preview on the right. Clicking a line in the preview takes you to its field.
Your changes save automatically, and you'll see All changes saved. To go back to our wording for a line, choose Use our text.
To put something personal in a line, use Insert a placeholder:
- Guest name
- Couple names
- Date, the reply-by date in reminders
- Moment name
- Wedding name
Each guest gets their own version.
A few lines only some guests see:
- Greetings by gender. In languages like Czech or German, you can set a greeting for a woman, for a man and for a guest with no title. LumiWed uses the title you set for each guest in Guests.
- The adults-only line only appears when your adults-only note is on in RSVP settings. Invites that welcome children never see it.
- The plus-one line only appears for guests who may bring someone.
You can't change the date, venue, each guest's personal invitation link, the invitation code or the unsubscribe link. LumiWed adds those for every guest, so they're always right. To change the date or venue themselves, edit them in Couple.
Translate your changes
When you've changed lines in one language and then switch to another language, open another email or leave Emails, LumiWed asks Translate your … changes? You can also choose Translate changes at any time.
Tick the languages you want your changes carried into, then choose Translate. Languages you've already edited yourself start unticked, so your own wording isn't replaced unless you choose it. If you edited only the one-guest version, you can also have your change carried into the couple and family version. To keep a change in one language only, choose Keep only in ….
If you add a new language to your wedding later, your changed lines are translated into it automatically.
Test before you send
- Use Preview as to see the email the way a particular guest gets it, for example a couple, or a family whose invite welcomes children, who won't see the adults-only line.
- Choose Email me a test to get the real email in your own inbox. It goes to the contact email in Couple.
Good to know
- Changes apply to emails sent from then on. Emails that have already gone out don't change.
- The email's colours and fonts come from your theme. To change them, open Design.
